This refined opal glass bowl, designed by A.D. Copier for Glasfabriek Leerdam, bears the signature "FABR LEERDAM ONT W COPIER" on its base, confirming its authenticity.
Andries Dirk Copier (1901–1991), renowned as a pioneer of Dutch glass artistry, began his career at Leerdam in 1914 and eventually became its artistic director.
This piece belongs to the Colopal glass series—an opalescent, colored, and opaque glass formulation developed by Copier.
Featuring a distinctive fluted, ribbed surface emblematic of his elegant design, the bowl measures 10 cm in height and 22 cm in diameter.
It is pre-owned with minor rim chips on the edge, as shown in the images.
