This antique cheese dome by Ridgways dates back to the 1890s and features the hand-painted "Old Derby" pattern executed in the Imari style.
Renowned for their porcelain dinnerware, Ridgways of Derby combined rich gilding with delicate hand-painted designs.
The dome's lid is topped with a blue-glazed handle adorned with gilded accents.
Measuring 14 cm in height and 29 cm in diameter, it reflects the distinctive Imari color scheme—vibrant orange, cobalt blue, and gold—rooted in 17th-century Japanese ceramics and widely embraced by European manufacturers.
This pre-owned piece remains in very good condition with no visible flaws.
