An authentic, hand-potted Japanese ceramic Tokkuri, traditionally used for serving sake but highly favored today as a minimalist single-flower vase.
This piece embodies the Wabi-sabi aesthetic, celebrating the natural beauty of aged materials and handcrafted imperfection.
- Style: Traditional Japanese Studio Pottery (Mingei style).
- Period: Meiji Era (circa late 19th Century).
- Artistry: Features a hand-painted floral motif in dark iron pigment, applied with loose, expressive brushstrokes characteristic of the era.
- Material: High-fired stoneware with a muted, off-white crackled glaze showing genuine age-related crazing.
- Form: A classic pear-shaped body with a slender neck and a slightly flared rim, designed to retain heat when warming sake.
Excellent antique condition with no cracks or major chips. The unglazed base shows authentic kiln residue and minor wear consistent with over 100 years of history.
Height: 27cm. Width: 13cm. Weight: 895,9 gr.
