A Japanese matcha bowl (chawan) crafted by the ceramic master Sugiura Yoshiki (杉浦芳樹) from the Utsuki Kiln (兎月窯).
- Type & Origin: It is a Seto-yaki (Seto ware) tea bowl, a traditional style of Japanese pottery from Seto, Aichi Prefecture.
- Design & Glaze: The bowl features a striking "Umi" (Sea) or cerulean blue glaze that contrasts against a deep black, textured background. This specific design is often titled "Oka" (Hill), which was a theme for the Imperial Poetry Contest.
- Packaging: It is presented with its original tomobako (signed wooden storage box). The calligraphy on the box lid identifies the maker (Sugiura Yoshiki) and the title of the piece ("Oka").
